How to Plan the Perfect Holiday with Your Friends

Holidaying with your friends can be one of the most enjoyable activities you can do, especially if you travel to a place you all love. However, like anything enjoyable, the perfect holiday with your friends is usually the combination of exciting spontaneity and careful planning.

While it is fun to imagine that you can rock up at an airport with your friends and jump on the first plane you can, in order to have a completely unknown adventure, in truth, you are better off having at least a modicum of a plan.

This is because you will only have so long in the country or region you are visiting, so you want to make the most of it. If you have no idea where you are staying or what you are doing, then you will waste all your time trying to nail the basics rather than focusing on enjoying your precious holiday time.

How to Plan the Perfect Holiday with Your Friends

Of course, creating a plan that everyone is happy with is not the work of a moment. This is what you need to know:

Find an activity that you all enjoy doing together

The first item on your agenda when planning the perfect holiday with your friends is to find an activity that you all enjoy doing together. If you all met through a particular interest or activity – for example, if you met during a golf tournament or in a nightclub – then you could simply go and indulge that interest on holiday.

However, if there is not one shared interest that unites you, try and find common ground by finding an activity you all enjoy (or at least don’t mind doing). This way, everyone has at least one part of the holiday that they will particularly enjoy.

Of course, if you want to go on a themed holiday (such as a golf tour), then you could always enlist a professional event organizer to help you out. You can read more here.

Decide what type of holiday you want to have

You can never have it all, and if you want to have a fantastic holiday with your friends, then you should probably agree on the type of holiday you all want to experience.

For example, you might want to focus on relaxation. If this is the case, sunbathing by a pool or finding a health spa is likely your best bet. Alternatively, if you are keen adventurers, you might want to embark on a hiking holiday, hire an RV, or go skiing.

There are a number of different types of holiday you can choose from, but it is best to stick to a general theme. You can’t enjoy deep relaxation on a sightseeing tour or get your heart pumping in a spa, so try and find out what everyone wants to gain from the holiday.

Do a vote on the location

The hardest part of planning a holiday with friends is getting everyone to agree on where they want to go on holiday or the accommodation you want to stay in.

Although you might be lucky and all agree on the key points of the holiday, it is more likely that you will disagree on some aspects of the trip.

To keep it fair, vote on everyone’s choices and compromise as much as you are comfortable with. After all, you don’t want to fall out or be unhappy before you’ve gone on holiday.

I need to see if I can go on a trip with my friends. I have not traveled since this pandemic started, but I hope to change that in a few months.

Couple years ago my sister travel to Los Vegas for a long weekend with friends. They had agreed that if you didn’t want to go or do something no problem.

The one thing you didn’t mention was money. If ever one does not pay their share it becomes a problem. When my sister and I travel we don’t keep track of ever penny but we do take turn paying. In the long run it balanced out. But when she travel with another friend one time, the friend might pay once in a while.
