Late summer and early fall means a lot of outdoor clean-up around here. Every year we clean our outdoor furniture before putting it away for the season. We then work on cleaning the siding on our house, shutters, wood trim, porch banisters and other outdoor things that need to be cleaned before winter sets in. When doing an outside clean-up, we do it on the first full weekend that the weather will cooperate. This means sunshine and cooler, but warm temperatures.
We headed to our local Dollar Tree to pick up supplies. New sponges, paper towels, household bleach, new spray bottles, etc. One product that caught my husband’s eye was Fabuloso, a multi-purpose cleaner in a lavender scent. There are other scents available if lavender isn’t your thing. This was the FIRST time we’ve ever purchased and used Fabuloso.
According to the label it’s made by Colgate-Palmolive Company and Dollar Tree had it for a buck a bottle. We grabbed three. Also on the label are instructions on how to use it. You can pour directly on a sponge and wipe down your item, pour it in a buck with water or do what we did…added a 1/4 cup into a standard spray bottle and then added water.
Now…here’s why we’re raving about Fabuloso. We typically purchase another brand at our local home & garden store that costs $15 to $18 a bottle to clean up our outdoor siding, shutters and furnishings. This year we decided to give something much cheaper a try. Boy…we’re so glad that we did!
Hubby got busy. He sprayed it onto our siding and you could immediately see the dirt and grime running down. He left it sit for about 5 minutes and then hit it with the garden hose. He did the same thing with our shutters. Sprayed them down with the solution in the spray bottle, left it sit for 5 minutes, and then hosed it down with clean water. Wow. Sparkling clean.
If you have outdoor furnishings like patio chairs, pool furniture, tables, etc. Do the same thing. Spray them with the solution, wait a few minutes and then hose down. If you have any stubborn spots you may need to use a sponge to losen the grime up. Then spray down with clean water again.
Let me mention our pool stuff. It did a FANTASTIC job at cleaning the ladder leading into our pool. Hubby took it completely out of the pool and hit it with the garden hose. Then sprayed the Fabuloso on it…waited about 10 minutes and rinsed it clean with the hose. ALL of the dirt, grime and mold was gone. Absolutely GONE!!! He used it to clean our floaties too…left them dry, deflated them and put them away for next year.
Our back porch and car port area has a lot of wood trim. That trim gets really dirty from the outside weather elements. He placed some of the product in a spray bottle with water. Sprayed it, used a sponge on stubborn areas and then rinsed with the hose. Wow, what a remarkable difference!!! That’s what you see in the photos in this post.
So, if you’re tired of paying a small fortune for other outdoor all-purpose cleaners I would like to recommend that you give Fabuloso a try. We picked it up at our local Dollar Tree for a buck a bottle. You can find it at other retail stores too.

This is the first time I have heard of this cleaner. I shall definitely look for Fabuloso at my Dollar Tree Store
I have bought this for the last few years and it is one of my favorite cleaners. Your post reminds me that it is time for me to get started on cleaning my deck and organize those outdoor toys before the weather changes.
Thank you for posting this. I have seen it but have not tried it. I will be buying a bottle the next time at the store to try it.
As I am reading this post I am thinking of all the things I would like to use it on outside. I am so going to grab some of this the next time I am at the Dollar Tree. I like that you only have to spray it on the item then wait 5-10 minutes then hose off.
