Best Shoes for People with Back and Hip Pain – Skechers GoWalks
Nine years ago I got a total right hip replacement, followed up by a total knee replacement 4 years ago. Both surgeries were hard on my body and took me 4-6 months to recover. While both helped to relieve pain and were necessary for my overall health…I’m still left with daily pain in my lower back, hips, legs and knees.

Finding comfortable shoes and sneakers that help me comfortably walk around was difficult. Over the course of 2 years I purchased at least 25 pairs of shoes and none of them met my comfort levels. NONE. Such a waste of my time and money.
I took a chance and purchased a pair of Skechers GoWalks sneakers on the advice of a friend. As soon as I got them I started wearing them around. What I found was that I was immediately able to handle walking from point A to point B with a lot less pain! I felt so comfortable in them that I was able to go out for long walks through the neighborhood and eventually for visits to the local zoo.
As time went on I purchased several more pairs of Skechers GoWalks in a wide variety of styles and colors. Some are lace-ups while other’s are slip-ons. You can find casual to more dressier styles.
The soles and insoles on the GoWalks is well cushioned and your foot sinks right in while they also give you the proper support. I found that I personally don’t need any type of break-in period either. They’re perfect for my day-to-day activities, running errands, traveling, long distance walking (which I now do) and when they start looking a little shabby I retired them to my house shoes aka slippers and wear them all around the house!
Almost every shoe in my wardrobe is a Skechers GoWalk and I wear them every day unless I’m headed out for a formal ocassion. Even then, I wear them, talk them off in the car, put on my heels, go to the event, come out to the car and change right back into my Skechers. Seriously, I do that!
I wanted to take the time today to share my experience with others who may be suffering with lower back, hip, leg, knee and/or foot pain. Those who had joint replacements and are looking for comfortable shoes to wear. In my personal experience, they were the answer for me and I’m so glad that I gave them a try.
