What? August 1st already? Summer is flying by. I started school shopping for my kiddos last week and oh my gosh, prices have really skyrocketed the past few months on the essentials and on-essentials that they need. I’m seeing prices 15-45% higher than the year before. Ridiculous! How can parents afford it? I’m hoping to have all of the school shopping done within the next week to ten days. I like to shop but hate paying ridiculous prices on things that used to be so much more affordable.
I refuse to pay $75 + dollars on a pair of sneakers for my kids. Backpacks are out of control too! My son fell in love with one but I’m not paying $69 for it. Heck no! Our kids go through these things way too fast to warrant spending that amount of money.
It can be very expensive to buy clothes for kids. My granddaughter grew more than 5 inches in one year. I am looking forward to all the food articles and cookbooks.

Looks like another fun week on the blog this week. Man those prices for sneakers and backpacks are scary! I agree with you I would not pay that either.
I feel for parents buying school clothes how do you know what size to buy. You buy this size and they grow out of it quickly or you buy a big size and they look like their clothes dont fit.
Example great niece is almost 5 her legs are so long have to buy size 7 in pull on pants to cover everything. And shoes she has gone through 4 sizes in less then a year.
