We’re passionate about street art and love looking for it every where we go. Wildwood in New Jersey is full of it, like most coastal towns along the Jersey Shore. Wildwood does have a theme and if you spend 5-10 minutes looking around it’s pretty easy to figure out.
It’s beach balls…beautiful beach balls in primary colors. You’ll find the motif on outdoor signage, painted on walls, depicted in murals, painted on utility boxes, beach signs, on water towers, and heck…look down on the street! You’ll find it painted on the road too!
Personally, I love it and it gives a cohesive look as you drive around the island. Some people think its too much, but not me! In my honest opinion, I wish more towns and cities would get on the bandwagon of beautifying their outdoor spaces with street art. I would love to see more of it when we’re traveling around.
Here’s just a few snapshots that I took while on a recent trip down to Wildwood in New Jersey. I could literally pull at least 2 dozen photos off my camera roll that feature beach ball street art. I think it’s pretty cool.
Does your town or city have an outdoor street art program? If so, any themes going on? I love when they feature local artists although national artists is okay too.
My town does not yet have a street art program. This WIldwood street art is really nice and I woiulkd love to go see it in person.
I think it’s fun to have street art like these. The beachball theme is just right.
So fun to look at those bright colors. Really draws the eye. We have a sculpture park near us and some very neat metal sculptures in the park that is within walking distance of us.
That a happy place. I love the colors. How can you not smile walking around this town.
There are a few places here that have it. That is really cool! Love it!
