If you did not jump on the minimalist train last year and throw everything in your house out, then there is a good chance you will want some space saving tips. Most people do. Whether you are a parent, have a partner with an extremely extensive DVD collection, or you yourself have just discovered the joy of beads and scrapbooking, there is always room in our lives for more space.
This piece will take you through some space saving ideas for your home that can help leave it clutter free and organised this summer.
Drop Leaf Tables
Having a big kitchen or dining table is an absolute must-have for big families or those who love to host parties, but when it is not being used all of the time, it can really put a dent in the space around your kitchen or dining area. Investing in a drop leaf table means you can drop the sides of the table down when they are not in use, creating a smaller everyday table for your needs. Then, when dinner is ready, you can simply move the table out and open them up again!
Lean-To Greenhouses
Lean-to greenhouses are brilliant for those who want to try their hand at growing some summer fruit and vegetables but do not have the space in the garden to grow an allotment, or hold a full-size green house! Lean-to greenhouses rest against the side of the house, using your house wall as the fourth wall to complete the structure.
Not only do they look really pretty, but they can offer a fair few benefits which regular greenhouses cannot. These include keeping a much more consistent temperature throughout the year, as the solid wall acts as a heat sink, preventing the greenhouse from having a sudden drop of temperature at night. Also, because of the proximity of the house, you will have much easier access to electricity and water too, should you need it.

Get Mounting
The one thing we all have in our homes is a wall, and while we can’t always remove a wall for taking up space, we can utilise it to help us give us more space elsewhere. An example of this would be using your kitchen wall to mount your pots and pans. We all know how much space they can take up even if you are not a professional chef, so making little swaps like this could do the world of good when it comes to space saving!
Pull Out Surfaces
Many of us need surfaces for our day to day lives, it is just a staple we cannot get around. However, they can take up a bunch of space when not in use, or end up being home to bits and bobs which instead have not been returned to their rightful place. If you are making some serious changes to your home and space is a big factor for you, then look into investing in some pull out surfaces which can be tucked away when not in use!
Space is a rare commodity, so make the most of the space in your home.
These are good ideas to help save space in your home. I would like to try hanging some of my pans.
