McCormick Grill Mates Montreal Steak Seasoning

I’m a huge fan of McCormick’s spices and seasonings. Over the years I’ve tried a lot of them and if you opened up my spice cabinet you would see that at least 60% of the ones I own are indeed from McCormick. I can always count on them for fresh and unique seasonings to make our recipes taste great!

We always have at least one bottle of McCormick Grill Mates Montreal Steak Seasoning on hand. It’s our preferred steak seasoning and we use it all of the time! Even though it’s a steak seasoning, I’ve used it to season pork chops and beef roasts too! It’s the perfect combination of spices.

We’re big grilled steak eaters and probably enjoy grilled steaks about every 2 weeks, a little more often during the summertime grilling season. When I season our steaks I like to rinse them under tap water and then lightly spritz olive oil on both sides. I then sprinkle on the Montreal Steak Seasoning and rub it in. They’re now ready for the grill.

Why olive oil you might ask? My grandma once told me that olive oil helps to keep the steak moist and it also helps your seasonings and rubs to stick. I don’t know if its true or not, but I’ve been doing it for years! Works for me!

While I’m at it…please remember to wash your hands frequently while handling raw meats! In addition, clean and disinfect your work surfaces too. You never want any type of cross-contamination. When I carry out meat to the grill it goes out on one plate and comes back in on a clean plate. Never re-use the same plate!
