Ensure Nutritional Drinks and Shakes – Part of Our Emergency Preparedness Kit

May 4, 2021 by Shelly

Ensure Nutritional Drinks and ShakesHow many of you keep a few bottles of Ensure Nutritional Drinks and Shakes in your home? I’m sure not many of you do. Well, I’m here today to tell you why I keep at least 12 bottles in my home at all times. In addition, I make sure my daughter and my mother each have at least 8 bottles in their home too!

A few years ago my husband and I both came down with severe cases of the flu. We were both flat on our backs and in bed for over a week. That episode brought on vomiting, the runs, high fevers, body aches, etc. The things that come along with having the flu. No solid foods were staying down in our stomachs!

I called the doctor and she recommended that we send someone to the store to pick up Ensure Nutritional Drinks and Shakes. She said that every household needs to keep some on hand for when they get sick or have some type of emergency when they can’t get out to the store. They’re great meal replacements!!!

Think about those times when you’ve been sick for days on end? Snowed in for a week by a blizzard? A hurricane or tornado rips up your town and you can’t get to the store for weeks at a time. Things happen in life…illness or emergency disasters! You never know when one might strike. Be prepared!

You can drink them right from the bottle at room temperature or chilled. You can add the Ensure to other things like milk, ice cream, yogurt, smoothies, etc. They’re great on their own or added to other things.

When nutrition is a problem you can use them as a meal replacement or as an in-between meal/snack. They don’t need refrigeration until after they’ve been opened. Buy several bottles and put them in your emergency preparedness kit! You never know when you’ll need them.

I feel so strongly about this and I can’t tell you how many times the past few years that I was grateful that I had them on hand to get us through a sickness or weather emergency. Even if you don’t want to stock as many that I personally recommend, at least pick up a few to keep on hand. Visit the Ensure website to get money-saving coupons and check out your Sunday papers too.

I think that it is a great idea – to have Ensure on hand as well as Pedialite or Gatorade since sometimes my stomach would not be able to digest the Ensure. I shall probably buy Ensure next time I shop.

Ensure is a meal replacement and supplement whereas Gatorade and Pedalite are to help hydrate and replace fluid loss. You should have both.

I had not considered how handy these would be to have for an emergency or a time when it would be difficult to be out and about. Great tip.

I swear by their products. I don’t always eat like I should and these are perfect!

My sister had the virus and was able to stay at home. We loaded her up with these. She had no taste and did not want to eat but she would drink these. I have a few of these and other types of meal replacements at the house. We have power outages more than we get sick. They are great even at room temperature in a pinch. Thanks for the reminder.

I would never have though of keeping ensure on hand for any reason. But I will be adding it to my shopping list. Many years ago I got sicker then a dog. Finally I ended up calling one of the women in the office to go get me ginger ale and bring it to me. I only lived 5 minutes from work and she stopped at a store on the way. I made her leave it on my porch and to this day I always have at least one bottle of ginger ale available.
