Weldon Owen Sticker Books for KidsSummer is just around the corner and many families will be heading out on a summer vacation and while traveling the kids need to be kept busy. I always pack a travel bag for each child that contains sticker & activity books, reading books, colored pencils, a drawing pad, puzzle books & travel-sized card games.

We’re preparing for our first vacation in over a year and heading to the beach. We’ll have a 4 hour drive down and a 4 hour drive back. Inside my daughter’s travel bag is a brand new book titled Colorful Creatures with Stickers and Activities to Make Family Learning Fun Book by Anita Ganeri and Penny Arlon from Weldon Owen publishing.

The book is over-sized and contains 112 pages with pull-out sticker sheets and a giant wall poster in the back. It’s jammed-packed with color photographs, fun animal facts, mazes, word searches, coloring pages, sticker scenes and so much more!

Synopsis: Take a stroll through the rainbow and meet all kinds of different animals. From red and sapphire parrots to black and white orca whales, the animal kingdom is full of your favorite colors and shades.

The colorful artwork and educational facts & information inside this book are amazing! I admit, I learnt quite a few things as I thumbed through the book. If I learned new things, my children will learn new things too!

Fun Facts from the Book: The African queen butterfly is a tasty snack for a bird. The orange butterfly sits on an orange flower to hide or camouflage. Another one: Blue is a color used for showing off on land, but in the sea it is used for blending in.

To go along with this new book I picked up a pack of markers and colored pencils at our local Dollar Store. If you’re gifting the book you’ll want to pick those two items up too! This is the type of activity book that will keep children busy for weeks, not hours! They’ll be learning new things while having some creative fun in the process. Love that!
