A friend of mine saw a post on the TCC blog back in August 2019 and had saved it to Pinterest. She loved my Seashell Covered Seahorse Wall Art that I had made and wanted to make something similar. She wanted hers to be more on the simple side as she wanted to hang it up outside on the side of her pool house.

After reading my post and following some of my directions here’s what she came up with. She used pallet wood to make her seahorse in a slightly smaller size than the one that I had made. She sanded her wood and then gave it two coats of aqua colored paint. After leaving it dry she sprayed it with 3 coats of clear acrylic spray sealer. Left it dry again.
Janice had a shark-eye seashell that she had collected from her last beach vacation which happened to be the perfect size for the seahorse’s eye. She used a strong adhesive to attach the eye and left it dry over night. The next day she attached a saw-tooth hanger to the back of the head so that she could hang it up. Simple.
You can check out my original Seashell Covered Wood Seahorse Wall Art craft project blog post to learn how to make them. I thought it would be fun to show you all a different version of one that was inspired by my original one. Cool beans!!! I think it turned out nicely.
If you’ve made an arts & craft project that was inspired by one from the TCC blog take a photo of it and email it to us! We would love to highlight a few more!

I am sure that you inspire many people to make beautiful coastal art. This one made from pallet wood is very attractive in the bright turquoise shade.
What a clever design and I love the bright aqua paint that she used. Makes me think of summers at the beach.
I love this. My sister is moving to the beach. I bet she would love it too.
