Clover Valley Toaster Pastries are Affordable and Delicious

Clover Valley Toaster PastriesMy love for toaster pastries began during my teen years when I needed to grab something quick for breakfast before heading out to school. Some days I would have a few minutes to heat them up and on other days I ate them straight from the package. Either way is good, but I do prefer them toasted. They’re great for breakfast, as an after-school treat or a before bedtime snack.

For years I was “stuck” on eating one specific brand. Yes, we all know which brand I’m talking about. They have them on a lot of different flavors and you always see them advertised on TV. Well, last month I was in the Dollar General store and spotted the Clover Valley brand of toaster pastries and decided to give them a try. In my household, there are 2 adults and 2 children who enjoy eating them. It can get pricey!

Clover Valley (the brand) of products can only be purchased at Dollar General. Under that brand you’ll find breakfast cereals, canned vegetables, canned soups, various snack foods, etc. It’s a discounted brand but the quality is just as good as name brand counterparts.

Since discovering the brand we’ve purchased about a dozen boxes of their toaster pastries in four different flavors: Frosted Strawberry, Frosted Blueberry, Frosted Cherry and I believe the fourth one was Chocolate Fudge. I can’t remember and I already tossed that box out! You get 6 pastries in each box (3 packages containing 2 pastries).

You can heat them up in your traditional toaster, a toaster oven or your microwave. It’ only takes 2-3 minutes using a toaster or 3-10 seconds in your microwave. They can be enjoyed heated or straight from the package. No refrigeration is needed, meaning they’re shelf-stable and perfect for traveling or snacking while on-the-go.

My favorite flavors are the Frosted Blueberry and Frosted Cherry. My kiddos like all of the flavors that we’ve tried while my husband the Big E really digs the Frosted Strawberry. They have plenty of filling (naturally and artificially flavored) and the frosted tops give them that extra umph. If you’re counting calories the serving size is 2 pastries which is approximately 390 calories per serving.

If you purchase toaster pastries and looking to save a little bit of money I highly recommend that you check out the Clover Valley brand at Dollar General. I pay $1.00 per box which is a lot cheaper than the name brand counterpart. Matter of fact, they’re now my family’s preferred brand of toaster pastries!

I have purchased Clover Valley products before but not toaster pastries. I have been getting another off brand from a small grocery store out here. They are not that good but much cheaper than the nation brand. I have not thought of getting them at Dollar General. I will try them now. Thank you for sharing.

  3. I’ve never heard of them before. I’ll have to check them out next time I go.
So they make an unfrosted strawberry?
