Pepperidge Farm Herb Seasoned Classic Stuffing Mix

Pepperidge Farm Herb Seasoned Classic Stuffing MixLast weekend I visited the local Pepperidge Farm outlet store in Lancaster County. I like to go down there (40 minute drive) a few times a year to stock up on some of our favorite Pepperidge Farm products at a discount. Every time I go, I can find some really nice deals.

While going through the store I spotted a product that I haven’t used before. It’s called Pepperidge Farm Herb Seasoned Classic Stuffing Mix and comes in a bag. Suggested retail price was $2.99 each, but they had an outlet sale going on and I got three bags for $1.50 each. We eat stuffing every 2-3 weeks, so it was a nice deal.

The package states that its a mix of white and wheat breads blended with herbs & spices. On the back of the package are the instructions, you add your own butter, onion, celery, and chicken broth. Variations are also printed on the package. You can stir-in dried cranberries, toasted pecan halves, etc.

What’s really nice is that you can use this stuffing mix a variety of different ways: in a casserole, on the top of the stove or placed in the bird. Instructions are included for all three preparation methods.

We’re not fond of “in the bird stuffing” and always find it to be too soggy for our liking. I prepared one bag via the stove-top method and one bag via the casserole dish method. Both methods came out equally good. Obviously, the stove-top method is quicker for those busier weeknights. I made one package as-is and the second package I added the dried cranberries but omitted the pecans. I have one package left and will definitely add cranberries again, because it added a little bit of sweetness.

I’m planning another run next month down to the Pepperidge Farm Outlet to see if I can find these stuffing mixes again. If so, I’m buying more. If not, I’ll look at our local grocery store to see if I can find them there. Out of all of the pre-packaged stuffing mixes that I’ve tried over the years this one is my new favorite! If you’re a stuffing fan, make sure you check it out.

Pepperidge Farm makes great products. I have not yet tried their stuffing mix because I usually use my day o old bread to make stuffing.

My sister in law has been using pepperide farm for years nnot sure what flavor. She does not stuff the bird but makes as a side dish. I really like it because the dressing is not gummie. I am a cornbread dressing lover but this dressing almost equals . We used to have a bread outlet store and that place was always busy and had great deals. Some parent would fill there freeze with treats before school started. Saved them a lot of money
