Every year we make a homemade ham for Easter and Christmas dinners. It’s been a family tradition to serve ham on both holidays for the past 50+ years. You can find our Pineapple Glazed Ham Recipe on the blog. To go along with it we make my grandma’s ham gravy recipe using the drippings from the baked ham. Really easy to make and fail-proof!

If you have left-over gravy after the holidays you can freeze it for later use. I like to pour it into a small plastic container, label it and freeze for up to 3 months. Thaw overnight in the refrigerator when ready to use.
Easy Homemade Ham Gravy Recipe
1 1/2 cups cooked ham drippings
1 1/2 tablespoons water
1 1/4 tablespoons all-purpose flour
1 tablespoon cornstarch
Pour ham drippings and water into a medium saucepan over medium heat. Stir in the all-purpose flour and corn starch. Bring mixture to a boil, stirring constantly. The gravy will thicken up pretty quickly. When it’s hot and of proper consistency remove from heat. Place in gravy boat or serving bowl. Stir again right before serving.
Note: If gravy is too thick add additional water, 1 teaspoon at a time. If it’s too runny add all-purpose flour, 1 teaspoon at a time until you get the right consistency.

The drippings always make the best gravy. Sometimes I have used them for ham too.
This looks like something that would be good to try. A nice way to spruce up a ham dinner.
I’ve never made gravy for ham before. This looks easy enough.
