We’re a big gaming family. Almost weekly we sit down as a family to play games. The majority of the ones that we like to play are board games, but every once in awhile we’ll play cards. When selecting a game for family game night it’s important that the game be appropriate for all players. Double check the ages, the number of players needed and the time that will be involved when selecting games to play.

Our family recently had the opportunity to try out the new game called Trailz. It’s for 2 players ages 7 years and up. With that said, my 5 1/2 year old son was able to play this game with his sister once he understood how to play. The directions come with it and after 10-15 minutes both children were able to play unassisted by an adult. Here’s some information about the game.
Synopsis: Two players, with teams of shrooms and slugs face off to out-smart and out-maneuver each other to get one shroom safely to the other side. Your Shrooms are on the run to make it across the board…but watch out for slugs! Slugs eat shrooms! So, move carefully and use your own slugs to keep enemy shrooms from reaching victory before you do!
Contents:
4 Green Shrooms
4 Orange Shrooms
2 Green Slugs
2 Orange Slugs
Game Board
Rules
Object: Get one of your Shrooms to the other side of the board…without getting eaten by enemy Slugs.
Last week we had 2 winter storms hit our area and we were snowed in for 3 days. To keep the kids occupied I gave them this name game called Trailz. We spent 10 minutes reading over the instructions, setting it up and giving it a trial run so that the kids could understand game play. They caught on quickly and a few minutes later they were playing Trailz all on their own.
One of the nice things about the game is that it doesn’t have a lot of pieces to it. It’s compact in size, so you can take it with you traveling or over to grandma’s house. It’s a quick one to play, you won’t be spending hours or all day playing it. Each time you play it, it will give you a different outcome and experience. That keeps it challenging and fun. Even my husband enjoyed playing it with our daughter. He said it reminded him of playing checkers when he was a kid. Kind of a similar concept with this game.

My older son always enjoys playing strategy games. I think that this is a game the entire family could enjoy.
We are a family that likes to play board games too. My grandkids are about the same age as your kiddos so it is nice to have choices of games that they both can play and enjoy like this one.
I had not heard of this game until I read your post. I like that young children are able to play it and it looks colorful and fun thanks for sharing.
