It’s hard to believe but my husband and I will be celebrating our 11th wedding anniversary later this year. After our wedding we jetted off to Mexico for our honeymoon. We stayed at a beautiful luxury resort on the east coast and had the time of our lives! The weather was perfect, locals were friendly, and we had plenty of things to do while we were there.
At the top of our list of activities was to swim with dolphins. They have a place down there called Dolphin Discovery and it was included within our honeymoon package. We headed over there one afternoon and were really impressed with the place. Clean and knowledgeable employees and the dolphins looked well-kept and happy.
The employees were telling us that the dolphins look forward to these interactions with us humans as it entertains them, gives them exercise, etc. That they’re social animals and love to play. They spoke for about 30 minutes teaching us all about these wonderful animals. Then…it was our group’s turn.
We changed clothes and all got into the pool. We were given clear and concise instructions and were able to swim with the dolphins as a couple. The group had to stay near the wall, so it was a great experience for my husband and I. One that we’ll never forget and always cherish.
I’m hoping that when my children are older that we can take them some place closer and let them experience something like this. It really gave me much more appreciation for dolphins and the conversation that is needed to save them. Not only was this a fun experience, it was educational too.
I have always wanted to swim with dolphins. I am glad that they first gave you all that information so that you knew the dplhins were safe and happy.
I can imagine what a wonderful and exciting experience this was and why it is something you would like to share with your children in the future. Dolphins are special animals.

This is something on my bucket list. I would love to swim with dolphins.
