Easter is just around the corner and every year we like to make and serve ham. Our family is picky about ham and prefer it to be a little moist, tender and sweet. We use my grandma’s Pineapple Cherry Glazed Ham recipe which we think is the best!!! All of the ingredients are readily found at your local grocery store or in your kitchen pantry.
Pineapple Cherry Glazed Ham Recipe
10 oz. jar sweet cherry halves, juice drained
1 large can pineapple rings, juice drained
wooden toothpicks
3 lb. to 5 lb. fully cooked boneless ham
1 cup maple syrup
3/4 cup 100% natural orange juice
1 cup Gingerale soft drink
1/2 cup light brown sugar
1/2 cup honey
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
In a large mixing bowl combine together the maple syrup, natural orange juice, Gingerale, light brown sugar and honey. We use a wire whisk to combine all of the liquid ingredients together.
Place your boneless ham into a roasting pan. Cut slits into your ham in a crosswise pattern using a knife. This will allow the sweet juice mixture to get into the meat. Use the toothpicks to place pineapple rings and halved cherries around your ham. Pour the liquid over the top.
Bake in a preheated 350 degree oven according to your ham’s package directions. Time will depend on the size of your ham. Once done remove from oven and let it sit in the baking pan for an additional 5 minutes before serving.

I think I would use tart cherries and some real ginger because the ham is going to be too sweet for my taste. But i do love pineapple and ham.
I like the addition of the cherries. I bet it adds a lot of sweetness and flavor. A recipe that I would like to try the next time I make a ham.
Just the picture makes my mouth water. I love ham and pineapple. I’d give my sister the cherries….
