Mason Jar Lid Travel Size Tic-Tac-Toe Game

Mason Jar Lid Travel Size Tic-Tac-Toe GameWhen we travel with our grandkids we always take along plenty of games to keep them occupied. The games have to be light-weight and compact in size. Games are a great way to pass the time during long car rides, air travel, rainy days when you’re stuck inside a hotel, etc.

This travel size Tic-Tac-Toe Game was made in just one day! You only need a few supplies to make it. Older children can make it on their own while younger children will need some help. You can add any style of playing pieces or use chalk!

Mason Jar Lid Travel Size Tic-Tac-Toe Game

Mason Jar Lid
Black Chalkboard Paint
Paint Brush, Water Dish, Paper Towels
White Acrylic Paint Pen
Playing Pieces (we used tiny white pebbles and seashells)
White Chalk
Mesh Drawstring Bag

Paint the front and back of the mason jar lid with 2 coats of black chalkboard paint. Let each coat dry for 20 minutes before applying the next coat. Let it dry on both sides until its no longer tacky.

Use a white acrylic paint pen to draw the tic-tac-toe lines as shown in the photo. Let dry for 1 hour. Gather playing pieces and 2-3 pieces of white chalk. Place everything together in a mesh drawstring bag.

We used small white pebbles and seashells as game pieces that we collected from the beach while on vacation a few months ago. The kids can use playing pieces or chalk. The game adds virtually no weight in your travel bag and takes up barely any space. Great for traveling!!!
