How to Make the Perfect Dirty Martini

How to Make the Perfect Dirty MartiniMy husband and I enjoy going out once in awhile on a date night. We will typically go out for dinner and drinks while a babysitter keeps on eye on the kids. It’s a great way for us to re-connect and spend some one-on-one time together. With that said, Covid-19 has kept us at home for almost a year. No dinner nights out, no drinks out with friends, etc.

The past few months I’ve been teaching myself how to make some of our favorite cocktail drinks. You can find a ton of easy-to-make cocktail recipes on the TwoClassyChics blog, other websites, and over on YouTube.  Today I’m sharing with you tips on how to make the perfect Dirty Martini. You can drink them on-the-rocks or straight.

Dirty Martini Recipe

2 1/2 oz. Vodka
1/2 oz. Olive Juice
1/2 oz. Vermouth
Olives

Mix together the Vodka, Olive Juice and Vermouth in a cocktail shaker or mixing glass. You don’t have to get fancy if you don’t own a cocktail shaker. Pour into a chilled martini glass. Add an olive or two.

Tips: Don’t skimp on the vodka! You want to use a good brand in a medium-price range. Some of the cheap ones don’t give the drink the “umpf” that it needs. We recommend using jarred olives, not canned olives which have a better flavor plus you can see exactly how much olive juice you’re getting in that jar. This drink is best served in a chilled martini glass and you want to serve it immediately after preparing it.

I do not drink martinis, but my sons might enjoy having one of these martinis. Vodka is great in many drinks.

  2. I love these and have not have one in so many years. Thanks for sharing this recipe I have totally misplaced mine. I like several olives in my dirty martini and a little extra olive juice. You are so right about purchasing a higher end vodka the cheap brands give me a major headache. Thanks for sharing this one and hope you have a great week.
