For the past few months we’ve been trying to eat healthier and one way to do that is by swapping out some foods for healthier alternatives. It’s a great way to cut down on calories and to get healthier foods into our bodies. Going organic as much as possible has been a great choice for our family.

Recently I was introduced to Chickapea Pasta and here’s some information about it.

We were sent a complimentary package of Chickapea +Greens Organic Spirals Pasta to try out for all of you. I decided to add half of the package to a pasta salad recipe that I was making for the weekend. You simply swap out your usual pasta and replace it with Chickapea +Greens.
The Chickapea +Greens Organic Spirals is made only with chickpeas, lentils, kale and spinach. It’s plant based with 24g of protein (per 3.5 oz. serving) and contains more than 2 servings of veggies. It’s USDA Certified Organic, Vegan, and certified to be gluten-free. It contains no preservatives, no added sugar and is Kosher.
It’s very easy to prepare. Bring 4 quarts of salted water to a boil. Add the pasta to boiling water and stir. Cook pasta, adjusting heat to maintain steady boil, stirring frequently for 7-8 minutes or until desired consistency is reached. Drain, rinse. You can serve it with your favorite sauce on top or tossed into your favorite pasta salad recipe.
I used a combination of different organic pastas that I had on hand to whip up this yummy cold pasta salad. You can use it in any of your favorite recipes. Once you have everything mixed together, I recommend refrigerating for 3-4 hours to allow flavors to infuse. Right before serving you’ll want to stir it really good. We will sometimes toss a little bit of Italian or Parmesan cheese on top. Our pasta salad was delicious and didn’t last long!

I have not seen this brand, but I shall look for it in my stores. I like that it combines several different vegetables in the pasta.
I have not seen this brand in my area but I have tried similar products and they are very tasty. Pasta salads go well with so many dishes.
