Shelly’s Snow Plow Pet Peeves

Snow Plow Pet PeevesOkay, I need to get something off my chest. Snow Plows.  Yes, SNOW PLOWS! I understand they have a purpose and I appreciate all of the hard work that the drivers do…but there are a few things that I really hate about them. Seriously, sometimes those things really get under my skin!

Today I’m going to share with you a few of my Snow Plow Pet Peeves!

1. I understand you’re vehicle is bigger than my vehicle but crap….stay off a good distance from my backend please! When the roads are slippery I will not drive faster to get out of your way.

2. It’s not necessary to spray de-icing chemicals and toss salt on vehicles that are right behind you at a stop sign or red light! Turn that crap off until you get several feet in front of the vehicle that’s behind you. None of us appreciate taking our car into the car wash to get the crap off on a cold winter day.

3. Some people are elderly or handicap and we don’t appreciate you plowing 4 feet of snow up in our driveaway or behind our parked vehicles. How the heck do you think we’re going to move that snow out of the way so we can get out of our driveway and/or parking space? Can’t you move the snow to a more convenient place?

4. If you’re a snow plow operator please be considerate of your fellow drivers who are out on the roads. Some people still have to get to and from work even during bad weather. Slow down and keep a safe distance. I would rather it take you an extra hour to plow my neighborhood than you cause an accident because you were tired & in a freaking hurry.

Yes, I appreciate the hard job that you all do but sometimes I think you all need a reminder that you don’t own the roads!

  1. There are weeks that go by here where it is snowing every other day. Those times when the snowplow comes by and recovers your work you just got done doing it is enough to make you scream. The snow pushed up is always hard and so heavy! We just had this happen and it is garbage day and we have snow mandates (no we are not HOA) just jerk cities.

I agree with you , especially about covering up the driveway entrance. It can be very frustrating.

  3. We live in a very rural area and when we get snowed in up here seeing a snow plow is like spotting a Unicorn! Where I live they are never around when you need them! I agree with your pet peeve on this one totally. When I do see one on the road they drive like total A-Holes!!! They drive down the middle of the road at about 90 miles per hour and you better get out of their way! I haven’t had one behind me in years but I hate it when there is a big truck behind me in dangerous weather and they think they can push you down the road! I so love your pet peeve posts.

TOTALLY AGREE!!! I have never been behind one that was stop so I have missed that joy.

BUT I have had them cover up my freshly cleaned out driveway. I just wanted to sit down and cry so I had to hire someone to clean out the end again.
