Northeast Winter Storm Round 2
Thirty-six hours ago it started snowing. The winter storm has been a combination of light snow, heavy-wet snow, ice, freezing rain, and sleet. On top of that…it’s been bitterly cold outside. The one thing that I’m grateful for is that we didn’t get high winds like we do when nor Easters roll up the coast. Just breezy but not too bad in the wind department.
All night long we could hear the sleet and freezing rain pelting our windows and rooftop. Twice we woke up to tree branches cracking & crashing down in the distance. If you were looking for a good night’s sleep, last night wasn’t it. Even Romeo (our cat) seemed to be on edge.
When you look outside it’s hard to believe that the official start to the spring season is only a month away. All of this snow, ice, cold temperatures, etc. is getting depressing. Everyone is sore as heck from shoveling, snow blowing and plowing around here. I’ve been applying CBD muscle balm all over my hubby’s body. He’s getting a workout and then some with this storm.
There is a positive side. They’re predicting we only have an hour or two of this mess to get through and then the winter storm will finally be out of here. On the negative side…they’re expecting another winter storm to hit us late Sunday night. Sigh. I’m ready for spring!
