Cinnamon Popcorn Crunch Recipe

February 18, 2021 by Jenelle

Cinnamon Popcorn Crunch RecipeMy kids enjoy snacking but get tired of eating the same old things. With that said, they’re big fans of popcorn and I’m always looking for new ways to prepare it. Once prepared I like to make up snack-size bags of it to toss in their lunch bags or to give them as an after-school snack. Popcorn treats make for great snacks when you need to prepare something for the athletic team, the scouting troop, kid’s birthday party, etc.

Today’s guest-post recipe is courtesy of Popcorn.org. You can visit their website to find all kinds of different recipes that utilize one of America’s favorite snack foods – Popcorn!

Cinnamon Popcorn Crunch Recipe

3 quarts popped popcorn, unsalted
1 can (6 1/2 ounce) salted mixed nuts
1 pound light brown sugar
1 cup light corn or maple syrup
1/2 cup butter or margarine
1/2 cup water
2 teaspoons salt
1 1/2 teaspoons ground cinnamon

Mix popcorn and nuts in large buttered bowl.

Combine sugar, syrup, butter or margarine, water, salt and cinnamon in saucepan. Heat slowly to the boiling point, stirring until sugar melts. Cook to hard crack stage (290-295 degrees Fahrenheit).

Pour syrup in a fine stream over popcorn and nuts. Stir until popcorn and nuts are evenly coated with syrup.

Spread out on large buttered surface or waxed paper. Separate into bite-size portions with forks. Cool.

I like the idea of mixing up the popcorn and having a different taste. The combination of sweet and salty should [please my family and I love maple syrup and sinnamon.
