Butter By Keba for Soothing Dry Skin and Lifting Your Spirits

During these colder winter months, I find myself appreciating nights by the fire, the beauty of the snow-covered mountains and cold-weather comfort foods like stews and chili. What I don’t love about the winter months is the unpleasant side effects they have on my skin. I definitely need to bump up the moisture in my skincare routine and I’ve found two new products from Butter By Keba that I’m excited to tell you about today.

Butter By Keba is a Black-owned small business that produces a line of natural body care products that provide just the right amount of moisture and fragrance. The intention of this line is to provide a natural and calming aroma, which is subtle and not overpowering. I often find some skincare products are too bold for my sensitive nose and skin. These products have just the right amount of fragrance, which is ideal for those of us who prefer just a touch of fragrance.

I’ve been using two Butter By Keba products over the last week or so—the Body Butter and the Body Oil. I’m enjoying both products and love how soft and smooth my dry skin has felt since incorporating these two little wonders into my daily routine.

Butter By Keba for Soothing Dry Skin and Lifting Your Spirits

Butter By Keba Body Butter is a premium body butter that is paraben free and made from Shea butter, which is oil rich in fats derived from the karite tree and known for its ability to nourish and moisturize dry skin. I really like the feel and texture of this body butter—at first, it feels a little greasy, but it melts into your skin within seconds leaving it smooth and soft. I’ve been using the Body Butter on my elbows, hands and my feet. I apply it as soon as I get out of the shower. Some of the other ingredients included in this product are:

• Grape seed oil for a boost of Vitamin E, which has been shown to reduce UV damage to the skin
• Rice bran oil is rich in antioxidants and packed with Vitamins B and E. This versatile, gentle oil is can reduce the signs of aging while soothing, hydrating, and protecting the skin.
• Candelilla wax helps the body butter absorb into the skin and has been known to reduce the appearance of stretch marks.

I’ve been using the Citruese scented body butter, which has just a light hint of citrus scent. It’s quite invigorating and refreshing. There are nine additional fragrances to try in body butter line—everything from Green Tea and Lotus Nut to Coconut and Lavender—as well as an “almost unscented” variety for those who want even less fragrance. The Body Butters are available in a 4 ounce size for $20 and 12 ounces for $32.

Butter By Keba Perfume Oil provides just the right aromatic blend to brighten your day and lift your spirits. This perfume comes in a 10 ml. roll-on size that can fit into any bag or purse to provide long-lasting fragrance on the go. The Perfume oil is hand-blended with essential oil and is phthalate-free. From citrus to sweet floral, spicy to musk, there is something for everyone. I’ve been trying out the Lotus Nut fragrance, which is a little too floral for me—I’d probably prefer something more along the clean and light spectrum like the Green Tea or the Georgia Tea, which is on the fruitier/sweet side. The perfume oil is available for $25.

All of the Butter by Keba products, including the two that I shared with you today, are available on the company’s website. You can also connect with the company on Facebook for more information.

These sound like great products to use right now. Between the winter cold and sanitizing my hands especially have become so dry.

  2. Peggy Nunn says

I have not heard of this brand. I will have to check them out. Thank you for the review.

  3. I prefer body butters to lotions for my skin. This looks like a good one.

  4. I would so love to try this product. My hands are just hammered from all the hand sanitizers and wipes. I keep putting lotion on and my poor hands need more to recover.

These products sound so nice. My skin is so dry right now it just drinks up any mousturizers.
