We live approximately 15 minutes from our local Bass Pro Shops store and it’s always a fun place to visit with the kids. Throughout the year we look for kid-friendly events at the store: fishing lessons, pictures with Easter Bunny, pictures with Santa, arts & craft events, etc. to take the grandchildren to. Some of them are free and others are low cost.
Even if there isn’t a special event going on the kids still enjoy going. They will stand for hours watching all of the fish swim around in the giant aquariums and enjoy checking out all of the faux wildlife displays. It’s a good way to teach kids about animals and outdoor safety too.
Last summer they had a boat show, a travel camper show, and a few other events hosted out in their parking lot. Oh boy…we had fun checking out those travel trailers and I think a new one may be on the horizon for our family since we’ve outgrown our old one. They handed out some freebies to the kids while we were there.
So here’s a reminder. The next time the kids are climbing the walls and you need something fun to do with them…head to your local Bass Pro Shops to see what’s going on there. At the very minimum it gets them out of the house and they can see all of the fish swimming around in the aquarium. Turn it into a fun, educational activity if you can.
I have never been to a Bass Pro Shop. I don’t know if there are any near me, but I shall look them up. They do sound like a fun [place to visit.
I love to fish but have never been in one of the stores. I will have to check them out!
We don’t have any Bass Pro Shops near us but have visited a few when we have been on vacation. I was so amazed by all there was to see and do. Easy to fill up an afternoon there.
We don’t have a Brass Pro Shop in our town yet but it sure looks like a lot of fun. They have similar stuff at our new Dick’s Sporting Goods store but no aquarium that looks so cool thanks for sharing these fun pictures.
I am going to mention Bass Pro shop to my niece. They are building one in our town and my great niece would enjoy looking around.
