This weekend I’ll be taking the Christmas tree down and putting away all of the holiday decorations while the Big E takes down all of our outdoor lights. I love decorating for the holidays but I hate cleaning everything up. We do all of that hard work just for 4 weeks of display. Just doesn’t seem right.
We’re now into January and brrrr the temperatures have been brutal. I’m glad that we’re finally adding a little bit of daylight to our day because I hate when it gets dark before 5 pm on the east coast. How about you?
I agree with you I love decorating for the holidays but hate taking it all down and cleaning. I have noticed the days are getting longer and I love that. It always gets me down when it gets dark at like 4:30 p.m.
I never realized that Eva Gabor had made nice quotes like this one. I have finished taking down the decorations and am glad that that job is finished. It is cold here , but not brutally cold. I am looking forward to more daylight and longer days.

I was so glad to see the shortest day in December. Now each day will get a little longer. I don’t like it being dark before 5 either. How I just look to see if there is any light at 5pm each day.
