Personalized Scrabble Tile Wood Hearts

January 30, 2021 by Shelly

Personalized Scrabble Tile Wood HeartsThese Scrabble Tile Name Wood Hearts are the perfect craft project to make and give year-round. Think about Valentine’s Day, Birthday’s, Baby Showers, Christmas, Wedding gifts, etc. They can be customized with any name that you like since you’re using wood Scrabble Tiles which are perfect for crafting.

We used a 6″ wide by 6″ high by 1/2″ thick unfinished wooden heart. You can use smaller-sized hearts if you’re spelling out a shorter name like Mom, Dad, Pap, Pop, Mr., Mrs., Baby, etc. You can really get creative with this craft project and customize the hearts however you like.

Personalized Scrabble Tile Wood Hearts

We painted our heart with 2 different shades of blue acrylic paint (2 coats) and left it dry. Flipped it over and painted the backside with just one color of the blue paint (2 coats) and left it dry. After it was dry we drilled a small hole at the top to hold the jute rope. If you don’t have a drill you can make a hanging loop and just glue it to the back side. I used an 8″ long piece of the jute rope, knotted it once and shoved it into the drilled hole with a little bit of E6000 Adhesive Glue. Let dry.

You can decorate the front of the heart however you want. We painted a black stripe, left it dry and then added blue paint using a sponge-tipped brush. Let dry. Use the E6000 Adhesive Glue to spell out your name on the front of the heart using Wood Scrabble Tiles.  In this case we spelled out “Nanny” which is the name my grandchildren call me. Let dry overnight. That’s it, you’re done!

What a great idea! I am going to add looking for a scrabble game to want list. I see where you can buy the bag but I think that is more letter than I would ever use.
My mind is running with all that we could do with this

This is such a clever idea and something I really want to make now. I would love to make these as Christmas ornaments for friends and family this year.

I really like that. I did not realize you could buy the letters in a bag like that. Thank you for all the ideas.
