Have you ever heard of the Cow Parade? We’ve been following it for the past several years. It’s an artistic street art event that is held all around the world. You’ll find hundreds of these adorable hand-painted cow statues in various states in the United States and in numerous countries outside of the U.S. Since we’re big fans of street art, we love hunting them down and photographing.
Central Pennsylvania has several of these artistic cows on display. So far we’ve found 14 within driving distance from our home. I’m going to show you two of them today.
The first one is about 10 minutes from us in a small borough called Steelton and the artist named this one SPACE COW. As you can see in the photograph it’s painted in an outer space theme. You can easily see planet earth, saturn, stars, stripes, etc. The other side of the cow is done in a slightly different design but within the same theme. These are life-size statues!!!
In the second photograph you’ll see one that is located in Harrisburg Pennsylvania and the artist named it CATTLE OF GETTYSBURG. It’s a play on words – Battle of Gettysburg and features the Union Flag, Confederate Flag and the United States of America Flags on it. Both sides of the statue depict a different design, but within the same theme. Traditional patriotic colors of red, white and blue. Sorry my photo isn’t better, a storm was moving in so we had dark skies overhead.
