Here are 3 Tips for Soothing a Sore Throat that most members in your family can use.

1. Saltwater Rinse

Add a 1/4 to 1/2 teaspoon of salt to a glass of warm water. Stir. Gargle with the warm saltwater 2-3 times a day. It will help to reduce inflammation and will promote healthy healing. It’s a great way to moisturize your moth and throat when experiencing dryness too.

2. Humidifier

Run a humidifier at night while you sleep and during the day if you’re going to be home. It’s best placed in the room that you’ll be spending time in. You can use a regular humidifier or purchase one of the newer aromatherapy humidifiers that are out in the retail marketplace. If using aromatherapy you’ll want to use essential oils such as: lavender, Eucalyptus, menthol, and chamomile which promote healthy healing and relaxation.

3. Soothing Throat Drops

Sucking on a soothing throat drop can temporarily ease sore throat pain. We personally recommend the Ricola Honey-Herb Cough Suppressant Throat Drops from Switzerland. They’re made with Fair Trade honey and can be found in retail stores across the country. They combine Swiss herbal ingredients with honey to help soothe sore throats from coughs, colds, flu, and allergies.

I have used these tips and they do help. I also like to add honey and lemon to herbal tea.

  2. I received a recipe for a tea from my chiropractor for sore throat and it works. Ok, it doesn’t taste the best, but when my teenagers ask for it, then it must do its job…
Juice from 1/2 lemon, 1/8 teaspoon Cayenne Pepper, 1 teaspoon Pure Maple Syrup, and a cup of hot water.
Boil water, then add the rest of the ingredients and stir..Sip on it as you would a tea.
Side note: I do add more maple syrup.
    Blessings to you!!
