A Stormy Day at the North Wildwood Marina

November 11, 2020 by Shelly

North Wildwood Marina in New JerseyThe North Wildwood Marina is located on the bay side of the island. It’s not a very big marina but you can sit and watch the boats come & go. At least you can on a good weather day! It’s a really pretty area that’s brimming with activity during the summertime season.

I know many of our readers don’t visit the coast very often and/or have never seen the ocean. Hard to believe…since I’m a big fan of the east coast and the Atlantic Ocean. I can’t fathom ever seeing it again. I’ve been visit the Jersey Shore for 46 years and love it. Yes, I’ve been to the west coast several times but I still prefer the east coast.

Anyway, When we were down on the island a few months ago a storm rolled in off of the Atlantic Ocean. It poured down rain for several hours. During the storm we also had a high tide so the water came up higher than it normally does. I personally don’t mind having a storm from time to time because it makes for great shelling afterwards.

Once the storm had passed you could see some of the debris left behind from the tide. There was no structural damage (wasn’t that kind of a storm) but you could see a ton of sea grass laying all over the beach and along the bay side of the island. For those of you who have never seen it before, I thought I would show you two pictures that I took shortly after the storm had moved on.

Looks like that was quite a storm. I never thought of all the seashells you can get after a big storm I bet you found some really good ones. Thanks for sharing these pictures I always love see places that I have never been to. I mean I have been to the beach just not this one.
