Frugal Finds: Bargain Deals at Big Lots and Dollar General

Due to the China Virus Covid-19 Pandemic I haven’t been going out shopping at retail stores as much as I used to. With that said, I do venture out if I need to go out for other things: groceries, prescriptions, etc. When I go out…I do all of my shopping that I need to do in one day instead of going out multiple days.

Last month I had to go out and stopped by my local Big Lots and Dollar General Stores. They’re both in the same shopping plaza, so I was able to walk from one store to the other. I made sure I went early in the morning (less crowds) so I could get in and out. Oh yeah, I stay out of retail stores during the weekends when they’re busy.

While I was at Big Lots I found several great bargains & deals. I got 2 large bottles of Cutex nail polish remover on clearance for .75 cents each. I purchased a 24-count box of Quaker Chewy Granola Bars on clearance for $1.75 and a package of Croissants with Strawberry Filling for $1.25 and it has 6 large croissants that are individually packaged. My grandchildren love them! In the home decor section I found my BEST FIND of the day. I purchased 2 dark turquoise colored throw pillows for our family room sofa. Each one was marked down to $2.50 each. If they would of had more…I would of bought them! You can’t beat throw pillows for that price and they’re very nicely made!!!

At Dollar General I picked up a few groceries and then purchased this wall clock on clearance for $4.00. We wanted an inexpensive battery-operated wall clock to hang up in our pool room. Now while in that room we’ll be able to see the time. The blue and white color works great with our color scheme too. In the children’s clothing section of the store I found this 2-piece boy’s Spiderman Jogging Set. It has a zipper-front hoodie and matching pull-on pants. It was marked down to $10.00 so I picked it up for my grandson. I saved even more than those prices because I used a $5.00 off a $25.00 purchase too. Yeah! I love finding bargains and deals!
