Fall Activities – Family Fun at the Corn Maze

Family Fun at the Corn MazeFall is finally here! It’s the time of year that many families go out to enjoy hayrides, apple picking and corn mazes. Due to the China Virus (Covid-19) we’ve been avoiding all indoor activities this year and ONLY been participating in outdoor stuff. Even outdoors…we continue to social distance and wear our masks.

Last month we took our grandchildren to the Strite’s Orchard Farm Market & Corn Maze and had a great time! This was the first time that little Prince has done a corn maze, so he was really excited to participate. The Princess has done them a few times and enjoys them.

To avoid any type of “crowds” we arrived as soon as they opened, around 11 AM in the morning. We paid our admission fee and headed out into the corn field. We left each grandchild take turns leading the way through the maze. Luckily for us…there were only 2 other families there at the time and EVERYONE was good about wearing their masks & social distancing.

One of the things we like about this particular place is that you can take your time. There’s no time limit at all. Second, it’s affordable. We had 3 adults and 2 children in our group and it only cost $20.00. (That’s my mom and husband you see in the photo above and my husband with the 2 grandchildren in the first photo).

We spent 40-45 minutes letting the kids guide us through the maze. We pretended to get lost and had the kids work together to get us all back out. They fell for it, hook, line and sinker. LOL It just made it more fun.

Afterwards we headed to one of our favorite ice cream shops and stopped in for take-out ice cream. Boy…those kids can put away the ice cream! I could barely finish my dish but both of them ate their’s gone lickety-split.

We really enjoyed this family outing and it was nice to get outside & into some fresh air. We hope to do it again next year.
