My family loves homemade apple dumplings but I don’t always have 3 hours to spend making them from scratch. On days when I’m pressed for time I cheat and use Crescent Rolls and my own canned pie filling to make them. From start to finish…less than 30 minutes and they’re on the table. Some people consider them to be baked mini apple pies however…I serve them in a bowl with brown sugar & milk poured over the top. Delicious!

Easy Crescent Roll Apple Dumplings Recipe
1 can refrigerated Crescent Rolls
1 can apple pie filling (I use my own home-canned pie filling)
butter
brown sugar
ground cinnamon
Lightly butter a glass baking dish or metal baking sheet to prevent sticking. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
Pop open the can of Crescent Rolls and separate the triangular-shaped dough. Place in a baking dish. Lightly butter one side of the triangle and add 1-2 tablespoons of apple pie filling. Sprinkle a tad of brown sugar on top. Roll up the Crescent roll.
Lightly dab a little bit of butter on the outside and sprinkle a little ground cinnamon on top. Place dish into a 350 degree F oven and bake for approximately 8 minutes or until done. They should be lightly golden brown on top. Remove from oven. Let them sit for 2-3 minutes before serving them.
You can eat them as-is or place a warm apple dumpling into a bowl and serve with a little bit of milk poured over the top. That’s how we do it in the northeast! They’re delicious and you didn’t have to spend 3 hours making them from scratch!
