Back in August 2020 we took the kids on a day trip down to Inner Harbor in Baltimore, Maryland. While there we visited the National Aquarium which was really fun. It was an adventure that the entire family enjoyed. The National Aquarium is open 7 days a week, year-round, and closed on major holidays. You can find the operating schedule on their website.
Admission rates are between $29.95 and $39.95 per person. We recommend that you allow at least 2 hours in your schedule when visiting so that you can see and do all of the available activities. Trust me, there’s a lot to see and do!
Once we entered the aquarium my son immediately started asking to see the sharks and stingrays. He’s really into sharks this year and is totally fascinated with them. We obtained a map and started on our adventure. You’ll see all kinds of animals that live in the water and out. A really nice variety for you to see.
As you can see from my photos we visited during the Covid-19 Pandemic and felt totally comfortable while there. Face masks are required in the building and people were really good about social distancing. I carried a bottle of hand sanitizer along with us and every 20 minutes or so we used it. Kids were reminded to not touch their faces and to be respectful of others around them.
We spent a total of 2 1/2 hours at the aquarium checking out all of the exhibits and seeing the animals in their collection. After we were done the kids did a little souvenir shopping in their gift store. My son picked out a shark toy while my daughter selected a mood-changing dolphin necklace. What can I say? She’s like her Mom and loves jewelry.
