Easy-to-Make Seashell Photo Frame Refrigerator Magnets

Easy-to-Make Seashell Photo Frame Refrigerator MagnetsI love decorating my refrigerator and upright freezer with photographs of the family and with my grandchildren’s artwork. Every time I walk by them the photos & artwork bring a smile to my face. Anyway, a few weeks ago I was at the Dollar Tree and picked up 4 acrylic photo frames with  a refrigerator magnet on the back. Each one holds a standard 4 x 6″ photo.

Since I decorate my entire home in a coastal and beach theme I decided to “spruce” up those plain Jane picture frames with seashells. I had a ton of smaller-sized seashells in my craft stash box and they were the perfect size for this project.

I used my glue gun to add the small cowrie shells to each of the picture frames. I went around the entire perimeter on the frame on the right and just accented the top and bottom corners on the one shown on the left. I then added a tiny clam shell to the corner to just add a little bit more. When working with shells you want to use small ones to help keep the weight down. That brings me to my next tip.

They will be heavier and you’ll need to add additional magnets on the back. I use commercial grade magnets that I bought on Amazon. I added four of them to each acrylic photo frame with my hot glue gun. I left everything dry and bond together overnight. The next day…I placed my photographs inside and put them back up onto the fridge! They go nicely with my seashell refrigerator magnets! You can check out my previous blog post to learn more about them.

Looks nice I made corsages out of seashells for a party. Funny how you can make the simple things look nice.

  5. I have a dare for you: I want you to count how many sea shells are in your house. You can get back to me in 3 months…..
