Title: 10-Step Drawing People
Author: Justine Lecouffe
Publisher: Walter Foster, Quarto Knows
ISBN: 9781633228825
Book Synopsis: With 10-Step Drawing: People, learn to draw the figure from head to toe, step by easy step. From eyes, lips, noses, and ears to hands, feet, and clothing, beginning artists will delight in rendering a variety of poses and expressions.
The book is broken down into 2 main chapters: Faces & Features (Front View, Side View, Three-Quarter View), and Body Parts & Figures. The artist/author teaches you how to draw eyes, noses, ears, mouths, hands, arms, feet, sitting figures, standing figures, etc. Each design is broken down into 10-steps or less and illustrated in a way that you can easily follow. I like how the author shows you the completed design in color to give you inspiration on how you can color it in and add some additional life to your sketch.
My 11 year old daughter started expressing an interest in drawing and art last year. Since that time we’ve been supplying her with how-to books and art supplies. She’s very artistic and creative. I really like the 10-Step Drawing Series from Walter Foster Publishing as they’re great for older children and adults. Just about any age group can use these how-to books.
Looking for a great gift idea? Pick up one of these books and head to your local “dollar type” of store. Our local store sells sketch pads, colored pencils, drawing pencils, paints, etc. all for a dollar. Get the book & supplies, place in a gift bag and present it as a gift to your favorite budding artist!
