Path of Life Southwest Mango Quinoa Blend

July 21, 2020 by Shelly

Path of Life Southwest Mango Quinoa BlendPath of Life’s heat-it and eat-it frozen quinoa, rice, and veggie blends are the epitome of simple. They stay true to their Live Simple motto by only using clean and wholesome ingredients. Currently you’ll find the products available in 11 different varieties.

* Complimentary product received for review.

We recently had the opportunity to try out the Path of Life Southwest Mango Quinoa Blend with Black Beans, Fire Roasted Corn & Cilantro Lime.  Each 10 oz. bag contains approximately 2 servings with 160 calories per serving. Keep product frozen until ready to use.

Microwave: Gently massage bag to break up frozen pieces. Place unopened bag slightly off center in microwave. Do not pierce bag. Cook on high for 5 minutes. Let stand in microwave for an additional minute before carefully removing. The product will be hot. Open carefully and serve.

Stove-Top: Gently massage bag to break up frozen pieces. Heat nonstick skillet over high heat for 1 minute. Add 2 tbsp. of water and product to the skillet. Stir, cover. Reduce to medium heat. Cook 5 minutes. Stir occasionally. Remove from heat and serve.

We followed the directions on the back of the packaged and prepared it in the microwave. It only took 5 minutes and it was done! You don’t thaw out this product before cooking it which saves time on those busy nights when you need something quick.

For this one we followed the Chef Tip which is printed on the package which is to serve it in a gluten-free tortilla and to add hot sauce. We warmed up our tortillas in a skillet with a tad of oil. We then added the Southwest Mango Quinoa Blend as the filling. We’re not big fans of hot sauce so we substituted with a sweet Duck Sauce which really made them good!

The Southwest Mango Quinoa Blend is really different and unique. We loved the flavor combination with this one! There was a little bit leftover which I saved for my husband the following day. He made a baked potato in the microwave and then tossed the quinoa blend on top. It made for a satisfying and easy lunch for him the next day.
