We recently had the opportunity to try out the Saffron Rice Blend with Turmeric, Carrots and Green Onion. It’s gluten free and non-GMO. Each 10 oz. package serves 2 people. The serving size is approximately 1 cup with 130 calories per serving. Great for those of us who are watching our weight.

Microwave:

Gently massage bag to break up frozen pieces. Place unopened bag slightly off center in microwave. Do not pierce bag. Cook on high for 3 1/2 minutes. Let stand in microwave for an additional minute before carefully removing. The product will be hot. Open carefully and serve.

Stove-Top:

Gently massage bag to break up frozen pieces. Bring 1/2 cup of water to a boil in a 2-quart nonstick pot. Pour contents of bag into pot, stir and return to a boil. Reduce to simmer. Cover. Cook for 5 minutes. Stir occasionally. Remove from heat and serve.

We prepared the Path of Life Saffron Rice Blend using their stove-top instructions. Including the prep and cook time…it was completely ready-to-eat in less than 10 minutes. The texture was really nice and it was moist. It wasn’t dried out, sticky or clumpy. It smelled wonderful as it was cooking.

Regarding taste…we thought it had a nice blend of the turmeric, carrots and green onions. I’m not a huge fan of carrots, so I was grateful that they didn’t overload it with carrots. This is not a spicy blend, it is very flavorful. I think it makes a nice side dish with any thing you may be serving. We served it alongside some roasted chicken and corn-on-the-cob. YUMMY!

I like to try different rice blends. This looks like a good combination of flavors so I shall look for it in the store.

This sounds so good. We are always looking for some new to have. We are bored at home so we want something different to eat. Thank you for the review.
