Hubby and I love to travel and one thing that we’ve noticed over the past few years is that a lot of small towns and big cities are getting involved with Street Art. We’re seeing more and more outdoor wall murals, artistic graffiti, and one of the newer trend is artistically painted traffic light electrical boxes.
Let’s face it…those traffic light electrical boxes are ugly and I love seeing local artists come in and give them an artistic makeover like the one that I’m highlighting in my post. It’s gorgeous if I say so myself!
Live by the Sun is done in a total beach theme. It’s colorful, bright, and definitely catches your eye when driving by. I love the design, especially the starfish laying on top of the sand! This is one of several that you can find when driving around the Wildwood island in New Jersey.
As time goes on I’m hoping that more towns and cities will jump in on the trend and give their boxes an artistic makeover too! Do you love or hate the new trend?
I agree that this makes the street and box or wall so much more interesting. I too hope that more towns will have artists transform the streets this way.
This does make a dull box into a colorful mural. Haven’t seen anything like this around here.
