Grilled Smoky Applewood Pork
McCormick makes some of the best spice blends and marinade mixes out in the retail marketplace. Any home cook can whip up a gourmet meal easily with their products. We’re big fans and during the summer grilling season we use a lot of the McCormick Grill Mates marinade mixes.

One of our favorite’s is the McCormick Grill Mates Smokey Applewood Marinade Mix which is naturally flavored. It can be used to flavor your favorite vegetables, chicken, seafood or pork. We enjoy using it with chicken and pork! Here’s the recipe that we use and it also comes printed on the package.
Grilled Smoky Applewood Pork Recipe
1/4 cup oil (we use olive oil)
2 Tbsp. water
2 Tbsp. apple cider vinegar
2 lbs. chicken, pork, seafood or vegetables
1 Packet McCormick Smoky Applewood Marinade Mix
Whisk together Marinade Mix, oil, water and cider vinegar in a bowl. Reserve 2 Tbsp. marinade for basting. Place meat and remaining marinade in a resealable plastic bag. Refrigerate for 15 minutes or longer. Remove meat from marinade and discard the remaining marinade in the bag.
Place meat on a preheated grill and cook through…basting with the reserved marinade during the last few minutes of cooking time. Remove from heat. Serve immediately.
Note: During the winter season when we’re not outside grilling we still use this recipe but bake our chicken or pork in a 350 degree F oven until the meat is done. According to their package you shouldn’t marinade seafood for longer than 30 minutes.
