Directing Your Energy: Learn to Listen to Your Inner Voice in 7 Easy Steps

June 16, 2020 by Sam H.

Learn to Listen to Your Inner Voice in 7 Easy StepsOne of the biggest obstacles in life is learning to trust yourself. When your inner voice is loud, the chances of repeating mistakes becomes less likely. Some people are so interested in inner voice methods that they learn how to become an NLP practitioner. Once certified, your inner voice will have a permanent place in your lifestyle.

1. The Voice That Matters

What does your inner voice sound like? A ‘gut feeling’ is the best way to describe it. Everyone has a different way of feeling their inner voice, so the trick is finding out which one makes the most sense. Don’t fall into the trap of mistaking your doubtful voice as being the alpha inner voice.

2. Doubting Yourself

Your inner voice becomes muted by doubt. Not trusting your feelings is something that can get in the way of personal progress. Instead of moving forward, you’re always taking two steps back. Get rid of doubt to fully realize your inner voice’s potential.

3. Be Inquisitive

Always ask questions about your wants, needs and goals in life. Plans change, and sometimes current goals don’t align with who you are as a person. By taking a moment to question yourself, your inner voice will always be one of reason instead of fleeting moments.

4. Clear Your Head

Too many thoughts at once is a bad thing. This often happens to talented multitaskers that have issues prioritizing a single thought. Make sure the message is clear by focusing on your inner voice. This is something that takes time, so don’t force it.

5. Get Rid of Distractions

Distractions are a painful reminder that your personal mental space can be chaotic. Peace isn’t always available, so train yourself to block out the biggest distractions. Your inner voice will become louder the more focused your mind becomes on its message. Find a space to meditate in your home when you get overwhelmed by distractions. This should be a personal space that makes you feel in control of your body, mind and soul.

6. Stick With Your Decisions

Once a decision is made, see it through to the end. Even if your inner voice is weak, it is important to feed it some type of victory. Undermining your own inner voice will only lead to problems when you need to call on it. An inner voice needs to be one of reason, not one that you turn to when there is no other option.

7. Stay Away From Choice Paralysis

Too many choices will prevent you from taking any action at all. An action is more than a thought, and requires effort on your end to make it happen. When you make a decision, try not to create different scenarios in your head that invalidates that decision. There is nothing wrong with questioning yourself, but don’t turn it into a never-ending book of choices.

Wrap Up

When your inner voice is loud and controlled, everything goes as planned. It’s all about knowing who you are as a person, and meeting whatever goals are set. Everything else in life seems manageable when priorities are set up to make yourself happy.
