My daughter will be turning 11 years old later this month. This year we’ll be doing a non-traditional birthday party for her. We’re going to bake a cake, do a little decorating, order her favorite take-out food and enjoy the day together as a family. We plan on playing a few backyard games (or indoor games if it rains) and then sit down to watch a movie together. We told her that in a few months once its safer to get together with her friends we’ll do something special to honor her birthday. Even though we’re all being cooped up & practicing social distancing it’s important to recognize her special day.

I really like your quote this week. Sometime silence is happiness. I like your idea for the birthday now and later. I gave my sister an ice cream cake and promised a luncheon out later. She was good with that. I am still sewing for the hospital but am getting a little bored with it. I need to make something different and come back to it.
