Meditative Stone Art – Create Over 40 Mandala and Nature-Inspired Designs

Meditative Stone Art - Create Over 40 Mandala and Nature-Inspired DesignsI’ve been painting on river rocks and seashells for the past 5 years and always looking for new creative ideas. One reason that I enjoy this craft medium is that it’s affordable. You use “found” objects in nature as your base and then all you need is painting supplies. Anyone with any skill level can do it.

The book starts out with a tools & supplies chapter and then moves into how-to make your own dotting tools. You’ll then move on to sourcing & preparing the stones and how-to transfer your design onto the stone. In the back of the book you’ll find several templates that you can use to get started.

Each project in the book is laid out in an easy-to-follow along format and each one comes rated from easy to more difficult designs. You’ll find a materials list with each project and step-by-step instructions with color photographs to make replicating the design easy. I really like how the author has laid out each project in an easy format that beginners can follow. Yes…beginners! You can do these designs even if you have never picked up a paint brush!

Even though the designs are meant for stone painting you can easily do them on other surfaces too! Think seashells, driftwood, wood slabs, pottery, glassware, trinket boxes, art canvases, etc. You can really get creative with them! The possibilities are endless!
