The Undeniable Benefits of Cooking Your Meals With Filtered Water

April 4, 2020 by Sam H.

The Undeniable Benefits of Cooking Your Meals With Filtered WaterDid you know that over 286 million Americans get tap water from a community water system? Consider trying out filtered water for a change!

Are you wondering what the benefits of filtered water are? Not to worry! In this guide, we’ll go over why you should try filtered water.

Want to learn more? Keep reading to find out.

Food Flavor Remains Preserved

Tap water that gets treated with chlorine can change the taste of drinking water. Some water tastes metallic, and this, in turn, can affect your food.

With a home filtration system, you can get rid of the smell and taste of chlorine. Your fruits and vegetables that you don’t cook will get cleaner, too.

Less Sodium in the Water

Your tap water could contain over 300 milligrams of sodium per liter. If you cook a lot, this could add up and take a big part of your recommended daily value. Too much salt can even lead to heart diseases and kidney failure.

No More Bacteria

You might assume that when cooking with tap water, the bacteria will get eliminated. But this doesn’t always happen. It can depend on how long the food gets cooked and the water temperature.

With a private well, there could be more bacteria. Private wells aren’t government-regulated.

It’s your responsibility to make sure your water gets treated, tested, and maintained. Use filtered water, so you don’t have to worry about the bacteria.

Improved Baked Goods

Sometimes your baked goods don’t turn out the way you expected even though you followed the recipe. This can happen due to your home water. Minerals like chlorine, magnesium, and calcium can affect the yeast in baked goods.

Minerals change the gluten structure of the dough and affect the fermentation process. Stop these issues ahead of time by using filtered water.

Brighter Fruits and Vegetables

After you buy your fruits and vegetables, you should always make sure to wash them. Have you ever noticed that they start to lose color after each wash? The chlorine in your water could be the culprit behind this.

Chlorine strips away the color from things. Filter your water to get rid of excessive levels of chlorine. This way, your fruits and vegetables will remain bright.

Healthy Drinking and Cooking Water

With a filtration system, you don’t have to worry about harmful contaminants. Tap water has a long journey from a municipal facility. The water can pick up pollutants on the way to your home faucet. These can come from an old household plumbing system or a leaking pipe.

Get reassured about your drinking water by installing a filtration system. You won’t have to worry about what’s in your tap water. Check out https://www.filtap.com.au/.

I had never thought about filtered water. Grew up drinking from city water and I really don’t notice a difference in taste. BUT I never thought about what is added to our water. Interesting!

We have filtered well water. It has it’s advantages. The bad part is if the power is off…. the pump does not work …. so no water. But our filtered well water is very good.
