Signs of Spring in Beautiful Pennsylvania

April 19, 2020 by Shelly

baby birds in nestWe live in the northeast and I love the Spring, Summer and Fall seasons. I thoroughly despise Winter. I’m not a fan of snow, ice and the freezing cold. Nope, not tall. As soon as Winter arrives I start counting down the days until the first day of Spring. Winter is depressing and I can totally do without it.

Spring has finally sprung in the northeast and I’m seeing signs of it everywhere! The birds have been out chirping, building new nests, lay eggs and we caught some of those eggs hatching! We have birding areas set up on our property where we can watch them come and go.

Baby Deer Fawn by bush

A lot of animals give birth during the spring and early summer seasons and check out this little baby deer huddled by a bush. Hubby was really shocked to walk out his office door and see the baby laying there. He observed it from afar and later that day Momma Deer came back and the two of them scurried off into the woods together. Way too cute!

My flower gardens are alive with action! Last month I saw my daffodils pop out of the ground. Earlier this month I saw beautiful blooming Tulips, Hyacinths and Bearded Irises. I love having my windows open during this time of the year and have the light floral fragrance come drifting through our home. Finally, some fresh air!!!

Spring Season - Flower Gardening

Another sign that Spring is finally here is the weekly chore of mowing the grass is about ready to start up. Hubby has already told me that next weekend he’ll be getting mower and trimmer out of the shed. Time to give them a good tune-up and get them ready for the upcoming mowing season. It’s nice to see green grass again and while I’m at it…green leaves growing on the trees again.

What do you enjoy most during the Spring season? I really enjoy getting outside again and tending to my flower gardens and preparing our veggie garden for the planting season. I love going on long walks in the park, on the beach or for short hikes in the woods. I just enjoy being outside…PERIOD.

It is finally starting to feel like spring here. I see more flowers in the wild and being planted. I am buying more plants and herbs to put outside.

It is very pretty there. We have daffodils and such but o tulips yet. Plenty of birds are either hatching or about to. The biggest, the bald eagles have just hatched and are a joy to see.

Oh, my goodness, I can’t believe you caught those eggs hatching! I always know Spring is here when I hear the first lawn mower rev up, lol.

I love spring. I enjoy waking up in the morning and hearing the birds singing and chirping. It’s nice to see all the flowers and trees in bloom.

Iris are my favorite flowers. For the last 30 years I’ve volunteered at the botanic gardens Spring plant sale. I’m really missing it this year.

I love spring so so much I look forward to it every year. I too hate winter, hate being cold and so hate the short days that is the worst. It is so pretty here right now the fields are all a glorious shade of green. There are baby animals everywhere. The trees are staring to get their new leaves. We have flowers opening all around the house it is truly lovely.

What I hate about living in a apartment is that I don’t have my flower gardens anymore. Nothing I enjoyed more in the spring, was cleaning up my beds. It was always so exciting to see a plant peeking up through the ground. Spring was always my favorite.
