Romeo Just Turned 6 Months Old

Romeo March 2020On December 21st, 2019 we adopted a 3 month old kitten who we named Romeo. He was in his 2nd foster home and needed a forever home when he came into our lives. You can read my FIRST POST on his adoption to learn more about it. We named him Romeo (he’s a lover, not a fighter) and call him MOE for short.

Romeo recently turned 6 months old and I wanted to give you all an update on our beloved little boy! Yes, we love him, we spoil him and he’s a valuable member of our family. We’re empty nesters, so we have a lot of time to spend with him. Trust me, he loves being the center of our attention. He’s always with one of us! Always!

During the first 3 months he has adjusted nicely to our schedule and routine. He gets up to start his day and goes to bed with us every night. Like clockwork! He has established his favorite “nap places” throughout the house. He has his own bed in our living room, family room and in our bedroom. I admit though, he primarily sleeps at the foot of the bed.

Since he’s still a kitten he loves to play! He enjoys mylar crinkle balls, running through collapsible tunnels, laying inside large baskets & boxes, loves to sit in front of a large window looking outside at the birds and LOVES the laser pointer. Okay, he loves most cat toys! He gets 1 treat every day, usually in the afternoon which he really looks forward to.

Our little boy goes to see the Vet on a monthly basis for a monthly check-up and then enjoys kitty spa where he gets a massage, a bath, his ears & nose cleaned and his nails clipped. We opted to do the humane thing of getting his nails trimmed every month as we don’t believe in de-clawing. He’s a good boy at all of his appointments and has never needed medicated. They adore our handsome boy too!

As a chronically ill patient Romeo has brought so much love, comfort and joy into my life. He’s my constant companion. He keeps me company, gives me unconditional love and makes me laugh on a daily basis. I never realized I could love an animal as much as I love this handsome guy!

Well, there you have it! My quarterly update on how Romeo is doing and you can see for yourself that he’s growing into quite a handsome man! We love him!

What a cutie. He has sure grown quickly. The kittensh phase is a fun time. Ours are all seniors except for Angus -he is 3 now. Romeo looks so happy!

  3. He looks like a happy and contented kitty. I have always had cats in my life and find that they make such good companions. My cats are currently watching the jays in my yard.

They are so easy to love and spoil. My cats hated to go to the vet not sure if it was the car or the vet. But then I didn’t do it on a regular basis like you. My cats were free to go every where in my home except my kitchen counter and table. And they learned that very early in their lives. I think my lap was always there favorite spot.

  5. He’s a beautiful cat. So glad he found you.

  6. Happy Birthday Romeo! They grow up so fast! My girl is almost 12 and a 1/2 years old makes me sad to think about that. You guys are such wonderful pet parents and Romeo is a lucky boy. I am so happy that you found each other.
