The Mouse Has Been Caught and Evicted!
Last weekend was a pretty stressful weekend in our house. Why? Well, we discovered that a mouse had moved into our newly remodeled sun room. I don’t like rodents…not as a pets and certainly not in the wild. They gross me out!
I had walked out into the sun room last weekend to get something out of our upright freezer and had noticed that the room was a mess! When we adopted Romeo (our cat) back in December I had moved the majority of our houseplants out there to keep him safe. During the winter we don’t use the room very much but come summertime we hang in that room as it overlooks our swimming pool.
Two days early I was out in that room to get 2 rolls of paper towels. Hubby was out there to put a bulk-size bag of cat food out there for storage. The room was fine and everything was in its place. Until….36 hours later.
Upon entry I immediately saw a big mess in the room. Half of my houseplants were chewed on and several others were almost dead or ripped out of their pots. There was potting soil all over my plant shelf and strewn across the floor. I take great pride in having a green thumb and well…a lot of my plants were destroyed.
As I walked further in the room I discovered dry cat food all over the floor and black-looking pellets (mouse poo). There was a ripped up magazine & a book too! What the heck was going on? Romeo never goes out there (he’s not allowed in that room) so I knew it wasn’t my little boy.
Hubby comes running in there (heard me screaming) and looks everything over. He then tells me…I think we have a visitor or two. I said…what? What kind of visitor? He said…mice. What heck? No!!!!
He starts moving some of the furniture around and finally gets to the new upright freezer. He pushes it a little bit out from the wall and guess what? Yeah…a freaking ugly-ass mouse runs out from under it. Ewww. Gross me out!!! I ran out of there. Yes, I’m afraid of them!

After setting traps for 2 days he finally got the bugger and he’s been evicted. EVICTED with a capital E. He’s gone. This household has no vacancies! I’m happy to report that my room is neat and clean again!
Are you afraid of rats and mice? I find them totally disgusting!
