The Best Rainy Day Activities

March 1, 2020 by Sam H.

The Best Rainy Day ActivitiesWhile it can be frustrating when the rain stops you from being able to leave the house, there can also be something nice and cozy about spending the day at home. The key to enjoying a rainy day at home is having a few different activities that you can do which will help you to pass the time and enjoy spending quality time with your loved ones or by yourself. So, the next time it’s pouring it down outside leaving you no choice but to stay at home all day, here are a few ideas for activities that will make for a nice, cozy and relaxing day.

• Baking

Baking is the perfect rainy day activity because it can be a fun way to pass the time, plus it will give you a tasty treat to enjoy the rest of the day. Baking is a fun activity to do with other people, but you can also do it by yourself and there are recipes for all abilities in the kitchen so it should not be too hard to find something delicious, even if you have not baked before.

• Listen To Music

In a time where people are constantly on the move, people rarely take the time to sit down and properly listen to music. A rainy day is the perfect chance to do this whether you are listening to your favorite artists, a popular new album that you have not heard yet or a friend’s recommendation. You can also listen to music while you do other activities, such as baking.

• Movie/TV Marathon

One of the most obvious (and enjoyable) ways to spend a day at home is to get stuck into a few films or to binge-watch a TV show. It should not be too hard to find something to watch with so many brilliant classic and new films and TV shows across all genres to choose from.

• Lottery Games

Playing online lottery games can be a fun way to pass the time and bring some excitement to the day as you wait for the results. You can bet on the Mega Millions easily online which allows you to play one of the biggest multi-state lotteries no matter where you are.

• Card Games

Speaking of games, it’s easy to forget the humble pack of cards. Humble they may be, there are actually over 1000 potential different games you can play with cards. You’ve probably heard of blackjack and rummy, but there are plenty of others. If you don’t have a pack of cards to hand, you can even play games like solitaire online, which should keep you occupied for an hour or two!

• Read

There is something incredibly cozy about settling down with a good book while you hear the rain pounding on the windows and this can be a productive use of time because reading is said to have so many benefits. Additionally, there will always be a book that takes your interest, whether this is a non-fiction, crime thriller, autobiography, romantic novel, horror or any other type of book.

There is something special about staying inside on a rainy day, but it is easy to get bored if you do not have a few activities up your sleeve. Above are just a few enjoyable ways that you can spend a day at home and will hopefully help you to have a fun, relaxing and enjoyable day inside.

I agree with all these ideas. I do them with my family as well as by myself.

Reading and playing games are favorite rainy day activities along with baking cookies and treats that can go in the freezer for a later date.

I love rainy days or snowy days! I get cooking a roast or something in the crockpot that will simmer all day. Then the movies start or binge watching a series. Of course this is all done in my sweats or Pjs! Ahhh!

This is a great list of ideas of things to do on a rainy day. I know I need to read more that’s for sure. We also love to do crafts on a cold day.
