Craft Project: Painted Easter Bunny and Spring Flowers Seashells

This year Easter falls on Sunday, April 12th, 2020. That means that the holiday is about 2 weeks away from today. If you haven’t started your crafting projects you still have time to complete them.

We decorate our home in a coastal style so a lot of our craft projects utilize seashells that we pick up while on the beach. The projects featured today use large clam shells and small slipper shells. Other than that…you’ll need craft paint to complete them. You can find over 150+ seashells and beach crafts on the TwoClassyChics blog.

Painted Easter Bunny Seashell

Painted Easter Bunny Seashell

5″ Wide Clam Shell
2 Small Slipper Shells
White and Pink Acrylic Craft Paint
Paint Brush, Water Dish, Paper Towels
Medium-Tip Black Paint Pen
E6000 Adhesive Glue
Clear Acrylic Spray Sealer, Glossy Finish

Base coat the large clam shell and the two small slipper shells with 2 coats of white acrylic craft paint. Let dry. Use pink paint to make an oval-shaped nose on the large clam shell and paint the inner section of ear on the slipper shells. Let dry.

Use the black paint paint to draw on two ovals for the bunny’s eyes, outline the nose, add a mouth and to add the whiskers. Let dry. Dip the end of your paint brush into white paint and dot on the inner eyes. Let dry. Use E6000 Adhesive Glue to attach the two slipper shells to the back of the head. Be generous with the amount of adhesive that you’re using. Let dry for 4-5 hours.

Painted Spring Flowers Seashell

Large 5″ Wide Clam Shell
Lavender, White, Green and Pink Craft Paint
Paint Brush, Water Dish, Paper Towels
Clear Acrylic Spray Sealer, Glossy Finish

Give your shell 2 base coats of lavender acrylic craft paint. Let dry. Using white paint make 4 tear-drop shapes to form the flower petals, having the points of each tear drop overlap in the center. Use green paint to form the stem and leaves. Dip the end of your paint brush into white paint and add polka dots around the border. Dip the end of your paint brush in pink paint and add a larger dot in the center of your flower and smaller dots around the border. Let dry.

To Finish: Take seashells outside and lay them down on an old plastic tablecloth or placemat. Spray each side with 2 coats of clear acrylic spray sealer. Let dry for 2-3 hours. They can now be used inside or outside of your home.

These are very cute . My favorite is the flower, but all the shells are so pretty.

As always, the seashell animals are cute as can be. You know, these would be great crafts to occupy kids at the moment! And you wouldn’t have to waste eggs on egg dying for Easter, lol

  3. This is a great crafting project for Easter. I have a beach close to where I live. So I can’t wait to collect some seashells for this when quarantine is over.

  4. Good thing you added pink to the inside of the ears. Otherwise it looks mostly like a cat.

So simple but so creative……….. Going to share with my niece so she and her daughter can do this since they are home. She has already colored eggs and I am sure there will be more of those
