There are a lot of people that, when they go on holiday, are interested in natural beauty, and what better things to see than lakes in all their natural splendor. Some of the most beautiful lakes in the world are not very well known, so if you are looking for inspiration for places to visit, here are some excellent tips to get you started. Below are some of the most beautiful bodies of water that you can visit around the world and enjoy a wonderful holiday, with plenty of photo opportunities.

Lake Baikal, Russia

For many people travelling on one of the Trans Siberian railroad tours, Lake Baikal in Russia is a popular destination. The lake is in southern Siberia and is the largest freshwater lake in the world, as well as the deepest and oldest. There are spectacular views available all year round, although the warmer summer months are the most popular times to visit. If you have the time, there is plenty to explore at Lake Baikal, and it is also abundant in animal and plant life, perfect for a holiday close to nature.

Lake Nakuru, Kenya

Another excellent destination to experience wildlife is Lake Nakuru in Kenya, which is a soda lake in the Rift Valley of East Africa. One of the most popular animals that you can see when you visit is the flamingo, who can sometimes line the shore in their millions. It is also home to one of the largest concentrations of Rhino, with both black and white varieties seen here. If you are looking for beautiful scenery with plenty of flora and fauna to take pictures of, Lake Nakuru is an excellent destination for your holiday.

The Dead Sea, Jordan/Israel

Despite its name, the Dead Sea is not a sea at all and is, in fact, a lake. It is one of the lowest points on earth and the waters have one of the highest concentrations of salt in any body of water, increasing buoyancy of anything that goes into the water. Many people believe that the water of the Dead Sea has healing powers, which is a belief that dates back to the time of Cleopatra. You can enjoy relaxing in one of the mud baths that you find in the many four and five-star hotels in the area or you can relax on the water’s edge and get a natural mud bath for free.

Gokyo Lakes, Nepal

The Gokyo Lakes is the highest freshwater lake system in the world and is almost 5000 meters above sea level. If you are not quite up to climbing Mount Everest, then visiting the Gokyo Lakes is the next best thing, and will provide you with spectacular views. August is one of the busiest months with many Hindus and Buddhists, making a pilgrimage to the lakes to bath in the revered waters.

Turn a Large Granite Ware Pot into a Water Bath Canner

Bold, Deep-Flavor Coffees from Himalayan Coffee

Bold, Deep-Flavor Coffees from Himalayan Coffee

I’m a coffee drinker and can’t start my day without a cup or two. I’m picky about the coffee that I drink. I like a bold flavor without a bitter after-taste. I don’t need flavor added into it. I enjoy a little bit of sugar

Visualize Your Big Renovation Project With Swatches

Visualize Your Big Renovation Project With Swatches

Visualize Your Big Renovation Project With SwatchesYou’ve decided on your next big home renovation project. You’ve been waiting for ages but you’re finally ready to begin. You know exactly what you want: you can picture it all perfectly. However, before you take a sledgehammer to your drywall, make sure you’ve got the right materials. There’s a big difference between what looks good on paper and what looks good in real life.

Fabric Swatches

Go to your local fabric stores long beach CA or your area for fabric swatches on those drapes and upholstery jobs you’ve been considering. Hang them up in the space so you can get a better sense of how they interact with each other, with the wall and floor materials, and most importantly with the light.

Paint Swatches

The light in the hardware store where you buy your paint is probably nothing like the light in your home. For this reason alone it’s a good idea to bring swatches home and see how they look in the space. But it’s also important to see how your paint colors look with the furniture you have and the other samples you’ve chosen.

Tile Samples

Tile is trickier because in addition to color and texture there are also matters of scale and grouting to consider. A large square tile might look good in theory but you don’t want to get it home and discover that it’s all out of proportion with the rest of the room. Similarly, a small subway tile might seem like a great backsplash but what if you get it home and find that it’s just too busy when combined with the cabinetry?

Wood Samples

Speaking of cabinetry and any other wood furnishings or materials, remember to bring home samples before you make a change. You might think that all cherry is created equal, for example, but stains, treatments, time and wear and tear can all have an effect on the color of your wood furnishings and floors. If you’re trying to match or complement wood that already exists in your home, just make sure to take a picture or a sample for comparison.

Once you have all your samples assembled, you can take your time tweaking and changing things. Get feedback from friends and friends. After all, they’re going to have to live with it too. The point, at the end of all this, is to get a chance to live with your design choices before they become an expensive and permanent part of your life.
