The Art of Comic Book Drawing with More Than 100 Drawing and Illustration Techniques

February 17, 2020 by Shelly

The Art of Comic Book DrawingWhile it is a relatively new art form, today comic books exist with enormous representation and variety and serve as the occupation of tons of creative individuals. They even inspires other art forms, such as TV, film, and animation. In The Art of Comic Book Drawing, you’ll learn more about the art form as you create your own work. The lessons and projects in this book will help you build a strong foundation from the ground up: learning how to create a story; finding inspiration; and, most importantly, creating the characters that will make your story come to life for you and your audience.

The Art of Comic Book Drawing with More Than 100 Drawing and Illustration Techniques

Veteran comic book artists teach you to draw basic cartoon characters, superheroes, villains, and more using simple, step-by-step drawing lessons. Once you get the hang of illustrating your favorite characters, you’ll learn to draw action scenes, set up panels, add speech bubbles, and even learn the basics of cartoon and comic book word treatments.

My 16 year old nephew loves to draw and he’s pretty good at it. He wants to go to college for art & drawing once he graduates high school. As soon as I saw this book I knew it was perfect for him. To go along with the book I picked up a sketch pad, pencils, erasers and other drawing supplies for him. He had a birthday and this was the perfect gift! A few days after receiving the items he called me up (Face Time) to show me 3 sketches he was working on. Let’s just say this…This book is his new favorite! Great for teenagers and/or adults.
